Jim Duffy believes Celtic must sign talented youngster ‘everyone is talking about’

Now that the madness of the weekend’s Glasgow Derby seems to be calming down, the Celtic fans will be looking forward to normal league business and news about their club resuming.

With St Mirren up next, Brendan Rodgers will be preparing his side for the last remaining Scottish Premiership league games in the title run in.

The Celtic manager will also be looking to prepare for next season with Rodgers already reportedly looking to bolster his squad.

However, Jim Duffy has floated a name that Celtic must look at and whilst he believes that this talented youngster may not be ready to step into Rodgers’ first team at this moment in time, the former Hearts Director of Football believes Celtic should still make their move.

Celtic told to sign Lennon Miller

Young Lennon Miller has just burst onto the scene at Motherwell this season. His performance against Celtic in his side’s 3-1 defeat to Rodgers’ men really put him on the map.

And whilst this is not the first time the youngster has been tipped for a move to the Hoops, Duffy is adamant Celtic must look to sign him up.

Duffy said [Superscoreboard], “The one I think everyone would be talking about for the clubs would be Lennon Miller at Motherwell.

“I think at 17 years of age he is the one I think that there’ll be a host of clubs looking at him, including Celtic and Rangers.

“Because you can get plenty of time to develop him. You could actually leave him on loan at Motherwell for another year and allow him to develop but sign him up.

“So there are some talented young players going around.”

There is little doubt Miller is extremely talented and I agree with Duffy, there is no way he would be able to walk into Celtic’s first team.

But a couple of million pounds to sign a top youngster and allow him to develop elsewhere would be a good investment because Miller clearly has a big future in the game.
