It has officially been announced that F1 owners Liberty Media has completed an 86% takeover of MotoGP, with current owners Dorna retaining just 14%.
Liberty Media has not simply acquired the huge percentage of MotoGP, with the owners of F1 having acquired 86% of Dorna, who also own MotoGP’s junior categories as well as World Superbikes and the new FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship.

MotoGP ‘perfect fit’ for F1 owner – Liberty Media CEO
CEO of F1 owner Liberty Media Greg Maffei has revealed that the company view’s MotoGP as a “perfect fit” for them, following the company’s 86% takeover.
It was announced on Monday morning that Liberty Media had acquired 86% of MotoGP’s parent company Dorna, who is based in Madrid, Spain.

Ex-F1 team owner predicts Sainz’s next move
Ex-Formula 1 team owner Eddie Jordan has predicted Carlos Sainz will join compatriot Fernando Alonso at Aston Martin for the 2025 season.
Sainz is currently seeking a new home for next year after Ferrari opted to sign Lewis Hamilton.
