Hari Raya Aidilfitri is just around the corner. With an array of festive programmes across Mediacorp’s platforms, you can celebrate from the comfort of your own home.
Here are some of the programmes you can expect.
SINAR LEBARAN 2024
When: Apr 9, 9pm
Where: mewatch, Suria, Mediacorp Entertainment on YouTube and Mediacorp’s TikTok
Mediacorp’s annual Hari Raya Eve variety special is back with a lineup of homegrown and regional stars, including Malaysian singer-actress Liza Hanim.
Themed Raya Untukmu (Raya For You), you can look forward to performances by vocalists Aisyah Aziz, Hazrul Nizam, Hyrul Anuar, Shazza and more.
There will also be a series of skits by fan favourites Era Farida, Izyan Mellyna, Khairudin Samsudin and Suhaimi Yusof, as well as local content creators Syafiqa AKA Sya and Zaki Hussain.
Meanwhile, popular personality Pamela Shuhadah Lee will showcase the festive on-ground atmosphere as she explores the Geylang Serai bazaar.
JUARA MIC JUNIOR BERHARI RAYA 2024
When: Apr 10, 10.30am
Where: mewatch and Suria
This children’s variety special will follow a group of cousins, played by Mediacorp RIA 897’s Zuhairi Idris and young stars Danish Aswad, Imtinan, Mishall Kiara and Nik Aqimi, as they prepare for Hari Raya.
Besides that, popular Raya tunes will also be performed by the alumni of Mediacorp’s Malay children’s singing competition Juara Mic Junior, including Season 2’s champion Sarah Alia.
AROMA SYAWAL
When: Apr 10, 9.30pm
Where: mewatch and Suria
This telemovie follows a daughter’s attempt to revive her father’s fading memories with the aromas of cherished recipes.
Shedding light on the complex impact of dementia on loved ones and family dynamics, Aroma Syawal stars actors Lut Ali, Yuslina Yussof, Fadhlur Rahman, Wan Ahmad, Mariana Yati and Haizad Imran.
REGIONAL RAYA PROGRAMMES
Local productions aside, Mediacorp will also be showing regional Raya specials, from lighthearted to poignant telemovies as well as horror comedies.
This includes Debunk Beraya, Sumpahan Peti Ais, Raya Sebagai Isteri and Langit Tak Mendengar.
You can also look forward to several variety specials including Romantika, which stars Malaysian celebrity couples Janna Nick and Dini Schatzmann, as well as Shuib Sepahtu and Watie Hanifiah.
PELANGI-RIA MUZIK MASH
When: Apr 10, 2pm
Where: Mediacorp RIA 897
Delve into Raya celebrations in Singapore and Brunei Darussalam with this one-hour special, joint programme hosted by Mediacorp RIA 897’s Fadli Kamsani and Pelangi FM’s Lydia Johari.
You can also look forward to festive song performances by Bruneian vocalist Yaniey Junaini and local artiste Hyrul Anuar, who will be singing his Raya track Dian Lebaran live for the first time since its release in 2013.
RAYA TAK BERASAP
When: Apr 10, 3pm
Where: Mediacorp WARNA 942
This gripping radio drama special tells the tale of two men posing as entrepreneurs, who deceive a group of women hoping to sell their Raya goodies abroad.
Written by and starring veteran artiste Keater HM, the radio drama also features Mediacorp WARNA 942 personalities Aura Shai, Mariam Mas’od, Morniyati Tukimin, Noreha Bajuri, RZ, Suriani Kassim and TG.
Besides Pelangi-Ria Muzik Mash and Raya Tak Berasap, Mediacorp RIA 897 and Mediacorp WARNA 942 will also be presenting Raya-themed programmes until May 2.
