(CNN) – 7-Eleven is coming clean about what proved to be a very clever April Fools’ Day prank.
The company is relishing in its success at tricking a lot of people into believing their new hot dog-flavored sparkling water was real.
7-Eleven was really sneaking about it by introducing the product several days before April Fools’ Day.
The company also tucked the Big Bite Hot Dog Sparkling Water announcement in with a broader announcement about several new sparkling water flavors.
While the hot dog sparkling water was a joke, 7-Eleven says some fans were actually interested in it.
