A Long-Term Vision for Regional Aviation

The partnership is structured to build AVi8 into Southeast Asia's premier dedicated ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) and charter platform. While full financial terms of the transaction will be disclosed in later official filings, representatives emphasized that the backing goes far beyond a short-term financial stake.

"We are proud to walk alongside AVi8 Airways for the long term," said Le Yen Thi, Managing Director of SVI Group. "This is not a short-term position—it is a commitment to accompany the company through every stage of its journey. We believe in the team, in the ACMI and charter model, and in the long-term future of aviation across Southeast Asia."

Minh Nguyen, Managing Director of AVi8 Airways, echoed this sentiment: "With the support of SVI Group, AVi8 Airways will have the strong financial preparation it needs to pursue a genuinely long-term plan—one measured in years, not quarters. Our ambition is clear: to build AVi8 into the leading ACMI and charter platform for Southeast Asia."

Filling the Gap with Flexibility

The ACMI and charter model is increasingly prized across the aviation industry for its capital efficiency and operational flexibility. It allows carriers to seamlessly scale up capacity during high-demand peak seasons—ranging from the Lunar New Year, Golden Week, and Songkran to summer holidays, as well as Hajj and Umrah travel—while addressing cross-border cargo flows that traditional scheduled models struggle to handle.

AVi8 intends to act as a dedicated airline-to-airline capacity provider, sitting at the center of this growing regional demand.

Phased Rollout and Robust Fleet Plans

Backed by SVI's conviction and financial strength, AVi8 Airways plans a phased commercial rollout beginning in 2027. The airline will initially launch with cargo operations before expanding into passenger charter and ACMI services.

The carrier's strategic roadmap includes operating:

  • Airbus A320-family aircraft for passenger and charter services.
  • Airbus A321F and A330F freighters to drive its dedicated regional cargo logistics.

Unique International Structure

AVi8 Airways features a uniquely structured international framework:

  • Corporate Foundation: Backed by AVi8 Air Capital, an aviation investment fund founded by veteran airline entrepreneur Ed Wegel. With nearly four decades of industry experience, Wegel has previously helped launch and build five successful airlines.
  • Operational Hub: The airline plans to apply for its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in Cambodia and establish its primary operational base at the state-of-the-art Techo International Airport in Phnom Penh, leveraging the country's strategic geographic location.
  • Investment Backing: SVI Group—with diverse interests spanning real estate, finance, technology, and commercial services—marks its official entry into the aviation and transport infrastructure sector through this partnership.

As AVi8 Airways executes its vision "aircraft by aircraft, and partnership by partnership," the carrier is poised to redefine flexible capacity and cargo infrastructure across the Asia-Pacific region.
